Stress is a much overused word which, unfortunately, means different
things to different people.
Stress, in this case, means anything which interferes with the happiness and contentment of a person, or with the smooth running of their life; anything which interferes with their wishes or aspirations; anything which `needles` them; anything which upsets the equilibrium of their life.
What is important to remember is that stress is individually determined. It can affect anybody in any walk of life.
It can even affect those who are able to keep control of themselves and who, in all adversity, manage to keep a `stiff upper lip`, who manage to put a `brave face on things`.
Stress can affect people who are calm, capable, non hysterical, well able to hold down difficult jobs, well able to cope with different kinds of crises, well able to carry responsibilities, and who are described and admired by their friends and colleagues as calm and capable.
How can these people suffer from stress? On the face of it, it seems rather unlikely.
However, stress does affect the body, even if we don`t realise it.
How can that possibly be?
To understand this, first understand Body Language.
